Simple questions shall be asked to assess the child’s aptitude, awareness and l.Q. The candidate shall be admitted on the basis of his presentation, parent’s interview and vacancy in the class. The number of students in each class is fixed at 30 only. Parents desirous to admit their wards in Nursery & KG I are admitted on first come first serve basis depending on vacancy in each class.

 

K.G.-II

English Should be able to recognize alphabets from A to Z .And answer questions based on the child’s knowledge on himself and his family. To read three letter words like Cat, run, big etc. and recite common nursery rhymes. Should know how to write capital and small alphabets from animals, Common vegetables, flowers and fruits.

Mathematics   Oral counting from 1 to 50 and spelling of numbers from 1 to 10 Writing of numbers from 1 to 50 and recognition of colours.

Hindi    To recognize ‘varnmaala’, ’swar’ and ‘vyanjan’.


CLASS-I

English Should be able to read fluently a reader of Class K.G. II and recite nursery rhymes with actions and modulations. Should be capable of reading four letterwords like door, bell, ball etc. and recognize objects in the class room and parts of the body. Should be able to name the Seasons, vegetables, fruits, wild animals, different meals of the day, days in aweek. Use of words viza or an; l, you, he, she, it, we, they; this and that; is, am, are; in, on, under; My, your, his, her, its; singulars and plurals (simple). To write five sentences on topics like 'Myself', 'My School', 'My Mother', 'My Pet', 'My Class' etc.

Mathematics   Oral counting and written numbers from 1 to 100 and spelling of numbers from I to 20; greater and smaller numbers; colours and figures; before and after the number; tables of 2, 5 and 10. Simple addition and subtraction of single digit numbers only. Shapes of circle, square and triangle only.

Hindi    To recognize’varnmaala’,’ swar’and ‘vyanjan’; speak and write four letter simple word;read and write simple sentence and recite a simple poem.


CLASS -II

English Spellings of simple four and five letter words. Should be able to read fluently from a reader of class level. Should be able to answer simple questions based on his knowledge about his school, his family, his hobbies etc. Should be able to recite a poem of Class-I level. Should be able to make sentences with simple four letter words and write an Essay on topics like : School, Pets, Games etc. Of about fifty words. Unseen passage followed by questions based on the passage; Language structures and grammar Antonyms, Past and Present tense use of articles (a, an, and the).

Mathematics   Three digit numbers (up to 999), Number names, greater and lesser;What comes before and after and in between; expanded notation; place value Skip Counting 2, 3, 4, 5 and 10; Addition of two digit numbers with and without carrying; Subtraction of two digit numbers with and without borrowing. Multiplication of two digit number with a single digit number;Tables from 2 to 6; Shapes : Circle, Square, Rectangle, Triangle.

Hindi    To write ‘varnmaala’,’swar’ and ‘vyanjan’ serially. To read, write and know the Meanings and opposites of Simple words; to write 5 lines on simple topics and recite a poem. To recognize numbers from 1 to 10.

 

CLASS - III

English Should be able to answer questions beginning with Do, Did, Whose, How, Which, Why, What, Who, When, Where based on his knowledge about his environment, family, school etc. Make sentences; Essay (Ten to fifteen sentences); antonyms, past present and future tense.

Mathematics   Recognition, reading and writing of four digit numbers Addition, with and Without carrying Subtraction, with and without borrowing. Multiplication table from 2 to 10; Multiplication by one digit multiplier; Geometry - Recognition and drawing of following shapes :- Square, triangle, rectangle and circle; Clock reading (hours and half an hour only); Roman numbers upto 10; Conversion of currency, weight and length, Numerical sums on addition and subtraction.

Hindi    To write ‘varnmala’, ‘swar’ and ‘vyan jan’ serially. To read, write and know the meanings and opposites of simple words; Composite words’ naam shabd” kaam shabd’, ‘vachan’, ‘ling’, ‘sarvanaam’; To make sentences to show the meaning of difficult words; to write ten lines on a given topics. To recite a poem. To know and recognize numbers in Hindi from 1 to 30; Unseen passage with questions based on it.


CLASS - IV

English Should be able to read fluently from a reader of Class Ill and recite a poem of class III standard. Knowledge of Phonetics and Silent Letter Words, Comprehension, Genders, Numbers (Singular and plural) Essays (Three paragraphs); Knowledge of the Tenses. (Present, Past, Future); Letter Writing Make Sentences, Parts of Speech, Opposites, is necessary.

Mathematics   Numerals and Number Names upto six digits; Multiplication of four digits by two digit multipliers. Should know short and long Division (single digit) and Addition and Subtraction of six digit numbers; Problems on Addition, Subtraction and Multiplication; Tables upto 15; Conversion table of Metric System; Calendar, Currency and Clock Reading; Knowledge of different geometrical shapes. Odd and even numbers; Roman Numbers upto 50; Fractions (addition and subtraction with like denominators)

Hindi    Meanings and opposites of words. ‘vachan’ ‘ling’, ‘sarvanaam’, ‘kriya’,’ sangya’. To make sentences; To write a composition of about 15 lines on a given topic; To write and recognize Hindi numbers up to 50; Unseen Passage; Letter Writing (only Informal Letters)

 
CLASS - V

English Should be able to express simple ideas properly and in full sentences. Knowledge of transforming sentences from Direct to Indirect speech; Comprehension; Essay about 200 to 250 words; Letters /Applications. etc. Parts of speech Comprehension, Meaning, Question-Ans., Grammar, Parts of speech and some Language structures.

Mathematics   Addition and subtraction of eight digit numerals, Multiplication and division; Problems on the four basic operations; tables upto 20;Fractions – Greater, Smaller equivalent, Proper, Improper and mixed; Decimal – Conversion of simple fractions to decimal and vice versa; greater and smaller decimal fractions; Roman Numerals upto 1000; Geometry – Angles and Triangles and their classification and other geometrical figures like squares and rectangles.

Hindi    Should know the meanings and opposites of words of class Vlevel. ‘Vachan’, ‘ling’, sarvanaam’ ‘kriya’,’ sangya’’, visheshan’. Framing of sentences to bring out the meaning of a difficult word. To correct grammatically wrong sentences; to write an essay of about I 00 to ISO words on a given topic;To write and recognize Hindi numbers upto l00; Unseen passage; Letter Writing; Idioms Proverbs; Synonyms and Antonyms; One word for a phrase.


CLASS VI TO IX

English The essential prerequisite for any student, seeking admission in an English Medium institution is his command over English. He should, therefore, be able to express his ideas/feelings on a subject in simple and coherent language, free from grammatical or spelling errors./.To test this, he will be asked to write a composition, which may be Descriptive, Narrative Argumentative or Reflective in nature. The length of the composition for the middle school(classesVl to VIII) is about 250 to 350 words approximately and for class X about 350 to 400 words. The applicant is also expected to be well-versed in letter writing-both formal and informal. To test his power of comprehension, he may be asked to attempt an Unseen Passage, on which direct as well as thought provoking questions will be set. Language structures based on grammar (Tenses, Prepositions, Change of Narration, Change of Voice, etc) can be asked. The standard of the questions set will be graded according to the expected caliber and standard of the class to which the applicant is seeking admission. Apart from these broad outlines, the candidate may be asked questions based on antonyms, synonyms, homonyms etc., to test his vocabulary and understanding of the language. ICSE format and some additional exercises are ste for the test.


CLASS - VI

Mathematics   Roman System, H.C.F.,L.C.M., Prime Numbers; Fractions; Decimals; Commutative, Associative and Distributive property for whole numbers, Operations of these properties (BODMAS). Fundamentals of Algebra; like and unlike Terms; Simplification; Simple equations and In equations; Ratio and Proportion; Percent and its applications ; Profit and loss; Simple lnterest, Averages, Bar Graphs. Lines and Angles, Construction of Angles, Problems on construction, Properties of Circles; Properties of Polygons; Triangles and Quadrilaterals, Area of a rectangle, square and four walls of a room. Volume of a cube and cuboid.

Hindi    Essay, Unseen passages to test the comprehension of the language by asking questions. Letter and applications. Grammar : Parts of speech; Noun, Pronoun, Verb, Adjective, Adverb, Antonyms and Synonyms, Idioms and Proverbs; One word for a Group of words; Use of a word in a sentence. (Make sentence)


CLASS - VII

Mathematics   Venn Diagrams, Number system, H.C.F. and L.C.M, Fractions, Decimal fractions, Power and Square rots, Number line. Average, Ratio and Reportation, Unitary Method, Speed, Percentage, Profit and Loss, Simple Interest. Fundamental operations Brackets, Substitution, Framing a formula, Simple Equations and problems based on them. Fundamental Concepts, Types of Angles and Properties, Parallel lines and their properties, Construction of Angles and Triangles Mensuration :Perimeter and area of plane figures :-Triangles, Squares, Rectangles etc.

Hindi    Essays, Picture Comprehension, Personal Letters and Applications, Comprehension (unseen passage). Grammar : Punctuation, Idioms and phrases, Conjunction, Prepositions and Interjection.


CLASS - VIII

English (given before)

Mathematics   Sets, subsets, Universal set, Venn diagrams; Number system, Fractions Decimals, Square root, Ratio and Proportion; Unitary Method, Speed, Time and Distance, Percentage, Profit, Loss and Discount, Simple lnterest, Averages. Indices, Brackets, Simplification of Algebraic Fractions, Simple equations and problems based on them. Perfect squares and factorization. Change of subject of a formula, Graphs, Relations and Mappings. Lines, properties of Angles and Triangles, Congruency of Triangles, Quadrilaterals and Polygons, Construction of Triangles & Quadrilaterals, Introduction of Theorems. Perimeter and Area of Triangles and Quadrilaterals, Volume and Surface area of Cuboid. Arrayed data frequency distribution, Arithmetic Mean.

Hindi    All parts of speech, idioms , proverbs gender, Number, Essays, report, autobiography, letter Writing (formal and informal) Comprehension, kinds of sentences, changing the sentences from one kind of the other.


CLASS - IX

Mathematics   Set :- Venn Diagram, Ordered pair, Cartesion Product, Relation and mapping. Number system, Simplication, Fractions, Decimals, Squares and Square roots, Ratio and proportion. Unitary Method, Percentage, Profit, Loss, Discount and Simple Interest. Fundamental Operations, Products and Expansions of Binomials and Trinomials, factorisation, H.C.F.And L.C.M., Simplification of Algebraic Fractions, Linear and Simultaneous equations, Quadratic equations, Formulae. Linear In equations, Number line, Linear Graphs. Angles and Triangles, Congruency of Triangles, Construction of Polygons, Use of Pythogoras and Mid point theorems (no proof). Linear symmetry, Perimeter and Area of plane figures, Volume and Surface area of solids like cube, cuboid, sphere, Cone and Cylinder. Collection and tabulation of data, graphical representation of statistical data through Pie Chart, Bar Graph and Histogram.Arithmetic mean, mode and median.

Hindi    All parts of speech, idioms, proverbs, gender, number, essay, report, autobiography, letter writing both formal and informal Comprehension, kinds of sentences, Changing the sentences from one kind to the other.


ADMISSION TO CLASS XI

Admissions to Class XI is granted on the basis of the performance of the student in the Class Xth Board Examinations. The student wishing to seek admission in Science Stream, should have clearly passed in a minimum of five subjects including Science and should have secured a minimum of 70% of aggregate marks while the student wishing to seek admission in the Commerce Stream, should have clearly passed in five subjects and should have secured a minimum of 60% of aggregate marks in the Board Examination. The admissions to Class XI will further depend on the vacancy and personal interview of the student, provided that the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination issues the Eligibility Certificate in respect of such students for granting admission.
